Alaska

Alaska was the 49th state to become a member of the United States, getting its statehood on January 3, 1959.  It was originally purchased from Russia in 1867 by William H. Seward, who was then the U.S. Secratary of State.  The land was bought for 2 cents per acre.

Alaska is a very vital member of America's economy.  The state accounts for twenty-five percent of the United States' oil production, and the industries of natural gas and oil continue to be Alaska's most significant sources of revenue.

Unrealized to most people, Alaska is the largest state in the United States.  It could fit the state of Rhode Island 425 times into its large land mass and is two times the size of Texas.

If you are considering refinancing your home, there is no better time than now to do it.  Refinancing your home loan can save you thousands in interest payments.  Other options for Alaskan residents are home equity loans or home equity lines of credit.  For more information about these mortgage options, consult a local mortgage lender or continue to check out Refinance Mortgage Brokers.com.
